Full Governing Body Meetings 2009-10
Full governing body meetings are held at the school and are open for the attendance of all parents.
Spring Term: Wednesday 10th March 6::30pm
What is the Governing Body?
We are a group of volunteers made up from the teaching staff, parents of children at the school and members of the community who have an interest in the school.
We act as a critical friend to the school and have general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement. We work in partnership with the Head teacher in the running of the school, which includes monitoring and evaluating the progress made towards achieving the targets set in the school’s improvement plan.
The entire governing body meets on a termly basis, and each sub committee also meets once a term and provides feedback to the full body. There is an extensive training programme for new and experienced governors alike covering all aspects of what you need to know to be a governor. Our body currently has 19 members, 5 of which are staff and the remaining 14 are made up from parents and members of the community.
Full Governing Body Meetings are detailed on this website and are open to parents who may wish to attend.
You may have seen us at the School’s annual open evening where we run the infamous “Governor’s Grill”. Come rain (as in July 2008, where we were washed out) or sunshine, we brave the elements to provide some refreshment for everyone.
You may also have seen us at Parent Consultations when we hold surgeries and are available to meet with parents to discuss any issues, complaints, receive praise!, or answer any queries you may have. We are usually in one of the Year Group Rooms, so please do feel free to come along and have a chat.
